Victoria Giaschi

Victoria is a Registered Speech-Language Pathologist and the founder of Strathcona Speech Therapy. Her career began working in the hospital system where she developed her clinical knowledge in orofacial anatomy and physiology of speech and swallowing. She opened Strathcona Speech Therapy in early 2022 and her practice has since focused on Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy.

  • Victoria earned her bachelors degree at the University of Victoria (UVic). She majored in Linguistics with a minor in Greek and Roman Studies.

    Victoria moved back to Vancouver for graduate school, where she earned her Masters Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of British Columbia (UBC). She has taken advanced training in the areas of Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy, AAC, and dysphagia.

  • Victoria is a registrant in good standing with the College of Speech and Hearing Health Professionals of British Columbia (CSHPBC). Victoria is certified in Speech-Language Pathology by Speech Audiology Canada (SAC).

  • Victoria has been practicing since 2017 and has worked in a wide variety of clinical settings, including: acute care, inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation, and community/in-home therapy.

    Victoria also has extensive experience working with adults with acquired neurogenic conditions, such as Aphasia, Parkinson’s Disease (PD), Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), Primary Progressive Aphasia, and Multiple Sclerosis (MS).

    Victoria’s practice currently focuses on Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy.

  • When Victoria is not practicing as an SLP you can find her performing on-stage in local musical theatre productions. She is a singer, actor, dancer, and guitar player.

    Victoria is also passionate about fashion and coffee.

 
 
 

Anastasia Korol

Anastasia is a Registered Speech-Language Pathologist whose practice focuses on Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy, dysphagia management, speech/articulation, accent modification, and acquired brain injuries. She strongly values research, evidence-based practice, and client-centered care. She believes that clients should have a say in the therapy they receive and every session should be tailored to the individual.

  • Anastasia received her Bachelors of Science degree in psychology and Masters of Science degree in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of British Columbia (UBC). She has taken training in the areas of Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy and dysphagia.

  • Anastasia is a registrant in good standing with the College of Speech and Hearing Health Professionals of British Columbia (CSHPBC). Anastasia is also certified in Speech- Language Pathology by Speech Audiology Canada (SAC).

  • Anastasia has been practicing since 2020 and has worked in acute care, private practice, and elementary school settings. Anastasia has experience working with people who have dysphagia and acquired brain injuries (such as stroke and traumatic brain injuries). She has also worked with accent modification clients, and children with articulation and language goals.

  • Anastasia has a cat named Ferris that she talks about a lot and is an avid fan of home- body activities, such as reading and re-watching movies. On nice days, she enjoys spending her time exploring coffee shops and meeting the neighborhood cats and dogs. Anastasia is also originally from Ukraine and speaks Russian and Ukrainian.

 
 
 

Kaajal Jina

Kaajal is a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist with hands-on experience addressing communication and swallowing challenges in both adults and children. Her driving passion is ensuring that each client reaches their full potential, a goal she achieves through evidence-based practices and close collaboration with communication partners and multidisciplinary teams.

  • Kaajal earned her Bachelor's of Arts in Speech Pathology and Audiology with Honors from the University of the Witwatersrand, South Africa, in 2011. She further completed a Masters in Business Administration in Canada, 2022. She is well-versed in PROMPT for Restructuring Oral Muscular Phonetic Targets, The SCERTS Model (AAC), Speech Sound Disorders, Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS), Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy and dysphagia.

  • Kaajal is a registrant in good standing with the College of Speech and Hearing Health Professionals of British Columbia (CSHBC).

  • Kaajal has embarked on a diverse journey since 2012. She has contributed her expertise to various hospitals, private medical practices, and schools across South Africa, Dubai, and Canada. Her clientele spans a broad spectrum, encompassing children with speech and communication delays, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Down Syndrome, and Cerebral Palsy. Additionally, she has worked with adults facing cognitive-communication disorders, speech, swallowing and voice disorders.

  • Beyond her professional endeavors, Kaajal finds solace in nature escapes, dancing, and culinary exploration, especially when it involves experimenting with spicy flavors.
